Day 1: Pick up in Nairobi and transfer to Lake Nakuru.

Activity: Transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park; enjoy an afternoon game drive. 

In the morning your driver will pick you up in downtown Nairobi from where you will head to Lake Nakuru National Park, an internationally renowned bird sanctuary.  More than 450 species of birds are known to live here, including millions of flamingos that transform the whole area into a sea of pink beauty, especially when seen from Baboon Cliff.  The park also serves as a sanctuary for Rothschild giraffes and both white and black rhinoceros, among many other animal species.  This is also an excellent place to see gazelle, leopards, impalas and hippos.  You will encounter many of them as you explore the Malaika Waterfall, beautiful Lake Nakuru and the surrounding forests.  In the evening, you will enjoy splendid views from the Flamingo Hill Camp, designed to blend in with the terrain.  The rustic African decor perfectly blends comfort with adventure, and the restaurant offers the finest in local and international cuisines in a relaxed setting. 

Day 2: Transfer from Lake Nakuru to Maasai Mara.

Activity: Transfer to Maasai Mara before an afternoon game-drive. 

Your next destination is the Maasai Mara National Reserve, home of the Maasai tribe, where you can see how the tribe preserve their traditions first hand. The Mara area is considered to be essential when on an African wildlife trip and the area boasts one of the largest wildlife populations. You will see beautiful savanna grasslands that are full of acacia trees and the wildlife you've always dreamed of seeing, including jackals, wildebeests, lions and gazelles. The setting will certainly make you feel as though you're in harmony with your surroundings. This is what comes to mind when most people think of a safari. Your time here will certainly give you a sampling of all the natural wonders that Kenya has to offer.

Day 3: Exploring the Maasai Mara National Reserve.

Highlights – Second day exploring the Maasai Mara National Reserve.

Activity: Morning and afternoon game-drives.

Game-drives are provided in the morning, as well as in the afternoon. This allows guests to have a more fulfilling experience viewing the wildlife. You will be able to see Kenya's famed wildlife up close; including cheetahs, zebras, buffalo, wildebeests, hyenas, antelope, giraffes and lions. These drives will certainly provide a number of outstanding photo opportunities. The accommodations at the Camp include private verandas and restrooms located en suite. You can easily catch a quick nap in your room, or visit the pool and bar area while you're waiting for your next game-drive. You can also go on a walking tour with one of the rangers from the reserve, or stop by the Maasai village to experience their hospitality and culture.

Day 4: Enjoying the Maasai Mara National Park.

Activity: Morning and afternoon game drives.

Once again you will be able to experience game drives in the morning and in the afternoon. You will see large herds of local grazing animals going by, and also have a good chance of seeing some of the big cats. In between activities you can relax in your room or spend some time out on the veranda. You might want to consider refreshing yourself at the pool or chat with new friends at the bar. If you haven't taken advantage of a trip to the village or a walking safari, you may want to consider it while you're still here. Both experiences are very worthwhile and should not be missed.

Day 5: Transfer to Nairobi.

Highlights – Pre dawn game drive on the Maasai Mara.          


Meal Plan: Breakfast.
Activity: Pre-dawn game-drive before breakfast. Souvenir shopping in Nairobi before your airport transfer.  

You will go on one last game-drive before dawn, with breakfast following the drive. The breakfast is a good time to say goodbye to your fellow travelers. You can take your time getting ready to leave; no one will rush you. Transportation will be available to take you back to Nairobi when you're ready. When you get to Nairobi, you can spend some time shopping for souvenirs or taking in sights you didn't see when you arrived. An optional farewell dinner is available the night before you leave. You will be taken to the airport in plenty of time to catch your flight home. As you head for home you will be leaving with a lot of fond memories of your Kenya safari.
