   [Alt: Lake Naivasha Sopa]
Meal Plan: Full Board - Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Following breakfast, travel to Thompson Falls before descending to the floor of the Rift Valley and moving on to Lake Nakuru National Park, an internationally renowned bird sanctuary.  More than 450 species of birds are known to live here, including millions of flamingos that transform the whole area into a sea of pink beauty, especially when seen from Baboon Cliff.  The park also serves as a sanctuary for Rothschild giraffes and both white and black rhinoceros, among many other animal species.  This is also an excellent place to see gazelle, leopards, impalas and hippos.  You will encounter many of them as you explore the Malaika Waterfall, beautiful Lake Nakuru and the surrounding forests.  In the evening, you will enjoy splendid views from the Lake Nakuru Lodge, designed to blend in with the terrain.  The rustic African decor perfectly blends comfort with adventure, and the restaurant offers the finest in local and international cuisines in a relaxed setting.

Day 3: Drive to Maasai Mara National Reserve

Highlights - Maasai Mara National Reserve

Accommodation: Mara Sopa Lodge
   [Alt: Nyumbu Camp]
Meal Plan: Full Board - Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Activity: Transfer to Maasai Mara; enjoy an afternoon game drive.

You should be sure to have a hearty breakfast today, because afterward you will enter the Maasai Mara National Reserve for an absolutely ideal African safari adventure.  Here are the grasslands, wildlife and adventure that Westerners have come to associate with a safari.  During the afternoon’s game drive you will see jackals, lions, wildebeests, zebras and many other species.  You will also meet Kenya’s nomadic people, the Maasai, and get an insight into their lives as cattle-herding nomads.  Tonight you’ll stay at the Mara Sopa Lodge, set in expansive and mature wooded gardens. The lodge has an ethnic design that incorporates traditional round buildings with thatched roofs for its guest rooms and public areas.

Day 4: Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives at Maasai Mara National Reserve.

Highlights – Full day exploring the Maasai Mara National Reserve

Accommodation:  Mara Sopa Lodge
   [Alt: Nyumbu Camp]
Meal Plan: Full Board - Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Activity: Morning and afternoon game drives.

Morning and afternoon game driving tours will lead you to some of Africa's giraffes, its largest lion prides, hyenas, herds of zebra, antelopes, buffalo, wildebeest, and cheetahs. Between the months of July and October, the Mara is famous for the Great Migration, when awe-inspiring numbers of zebra, Thomson’s gazelle and wildebeest move into the area.  When westerners think of African safari tours, this part of Kenya is the place they imagine - golden grassland plains dotted with acacia and wide-open savannahs roamed by wildebeest, zebras, lions and jackals.   Your camp has great wooden decks with large verandahs for guests to enjoy the constant game activity that takes place around the watering hole at the camp.

Day 5: Morning and afternoon game drives at Maasai National Reserve.

Highlights - Maasai Mara National Reserve

Accommodation:
Mara Sopa Lodge
   [Alt: Nyumbu Camp]
Meal Plan: Full Board - Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Activity: Morning and afternoon game drives.

Once again you will be able to experience game-drives in the morning and in the afternoon. Both drives will give you great wildlife viewing opportunities. You will see large herds of local grazing animals going by, and also have a good chance of seeing some of the big cats. If you’re able to visit between July and October, you may be able to witness the Great Migration, when huge herds of Thomson’s gazelles, wildebeests and zebras travel in mass from the Serengeti.  It is an unforgettable experience that is not to be missed.  No matter when you visit, you will also have a chance to take a “walking safari”, or visit a local tribal village if you wish.  You will learn about the Maasai way of life and how they have managed to retain their semi-nomadic customs even in today’s modern world, when so much of their world is at risk.  After all these adventures, you will be more than ready for a mid-day nap, take a dip in the pool or laze on the veranda to escape the heat of the day.

Day 6: Fly to Nairobi and connect with flight to Mombasa.
