We really enjoyed our fun filled Kenya Safari.

Lake Nakuru was amazing as was the boat ride on Lake Naivasha. Our guide, Simon was very
knowledgeable, courteous and always cheerful. He speaks English exceptionally well and really
knows the Maasai Mara. We would request him again next time we come on Safari.
The tented camp provided us with a unique opportunity to get close really to Nature.
If they could put an electric fence around it, this would be the premier spot on the Mara says Pam.
Mom is over reacting the camp was the best ever says

Thoroughly Enjoyable Experience!

We thoroughly enjoyed our safari experience. Our pleasure came from
the well thought out plan for our trip, the experiences in Kenya and
the Kenyan people. All of these things were brought to life through
the efforts of our driver and guide, Jack. Jack was attentive to
everything that we wanted to accomplish on our adventure. We not only
wanted to "see" Kenya, the scenery and the wild life, but also to
experience the people of Kenya, to understand a little about the
culture, and the history of the country. Jack was able to help us
accomplish all of our goals, as well as exceed our goals. Jack was
able to lead us to places where the Kenyan people were helping the
young people to gain the education needed to not only improve
themselves, but also to help improve the lot of others as well as the
lot of the country.

As we discussed, it is one thing to look at a country as beautiful as
Kenya. A level of satisfaction is reached merely by the looking. But
with the help of Tokenya.com and their people in Kenya embodied by John
and Jack in particular, we were able to learn something of the culture
and the people who live there. We went off the agenda to visit
directly with people in the schools, and some of the youth in the
schools. This brought the hopes and dreams of people living in Kenya
to life. Hopefully, they will take away a little bit more of an
understanding about people from the USA from our discussions.

Thank you again for your assistance. Please pass our comments (both
written in this email and from our telephone conversation) to Jack and
John.

Cannot wait to do this again!!

The only word to describe the experience is WOW! The trip was
everything we had hoped for and more. Our Driver Jackson Mucheke
(Jack) was absolutely outstanding. On the game drives, he was often
first in finding the hard to find big five and we saw them all several
times. Like magic Jack would seem to know where they were, drive
around a bush and they were just there. He saw to our every need, we
visited several schools and in Nakuru he went out of his way to find a
mission that we knew about and wanted to see firsthand.

You said that he was one of your best guides and you were so correct.
The visit to the Maasai village was outstanding and Jack arranged for
us to be shown the village by the chief. The accommodations and
service at all the hotels was great and the food was exceptional. I
would urge everyone to take a balloon ride over the Maasai Mara. It is
an experience not to be missed. We did this the last morning we were
there and then Jack met us after we landed and we continued the game
drive to make it a full day's adventure. It was a great way to spend
the last day on the Maasai Mara.

Thank you again for all the work you did in creating the perfect trip.
Your hard work in planning all the details was apparent. I cannot wait
to do this again.

Enjoyed all the properties

We enjoyed all the properties. Each had its own unique
characteristics. Amboseli was too dusty this time of year. Mt
Kilimanjaro was never clear. Our Tour coordinator, James, was very
helpful. We felt he went out of his way to make our trip the wonderful
time that it was.

Trip of a lifetime!!

We have just returned from the trip of a lifetime. Every day we said
it could not get any better then it did. Thank you for the experience
of a lifetime. We thought travelling around the world was the ultimate
experience until now. Africa is the most incredible adventure we will
ever know. I took over two thousand pictures, and the ladies with me,
my wife, daughter, and cousin were just in awe for the entire time we
were there. Our guide, Fred Wanjau, is the most amazing man and the
best outdoorsman I have ever known. He literally has the eyesight of
an eagle, and so much knowledge of animal behavior that we were always
the first to see the spectacularly abundant animal life. We noticed
that the other guides seemed to follow his lead. Needless to say we
saw all of the big five. Lion, Cheetah, Leopard, Rhino, Elephant,
Crocs, and Hippos. We cannot thank you enough for the expertise and
intelligence you demonstrated in planning this trip. Again, Thank You,

Thank You, Thank You, We will recommend Tokenya.com to anyone we know

Special and Enjoyable Experience

We learned many things about Kenya, the people and the animals. Our
driver Chris was outstanding, he was extremely friendly and polite.
His driving skills are outstanding. He got us out of the mud, changed
tires quickly and safe. He was always punctual and never kept us
waiting. We can't say enough nice things about him. He made our trip
special and enjoyable. The vehicle was comfortable and always clean.
We loved the open hatch. The two spare tires were very handy.

The Big 5 and then some!!

The Mara was amazing. We saw the big 5 plus so much more! All the
properties were great, but Siana Springs was clearly the best!! Our
guide Kioko was very knowledgeable about everything from the culture
to animals. He was always polite and forgiving even when we were late.
His driving skills are amazing. He should be a Nascar driver. We felt
very safe. He was always on time we were never on time. Kioko was
a great help with everything. He made sure we saw lots of animals and
made our experience  amazing. The vehicle was great! We had all the
room we needed. It was very spacious. We made it messy, but Kioko keep
it clean all the time.

Our 14Day African Safari

Jean and I and the McArthurs just returned from our ToTokenya.com
Safari. Having never been to any part of Africa before, we were a bit
apprehensive but felt excited about our upcoming safari adventure. We
flew to Nairobi on British Airways with a stopover in London which
helped us adjust to the new time zones. We were met by James, the
representative of the tour company, and our driver/guide David upon
our arrival at the Nairobi airport and taken to the Stanley Hotel.

After a day in Nairobi with side trips provided by our guide David,
and a nice evening meal at the hotel we retired early and were eager
to go on safari. Our guide took us first to Lake Naivasha for an hour
and a half boat excursion and animal viewing trip around the Lake.
Then on to Lake Nakuru National Park overnight for our first "game
drive" which is for those not clear on what exactly that means simply
getting into a vehicle with an open top and driving around in the game
preserve looking for game, birds, and anything else of interest. After
Lake Nakuru we traveled on to the Maasai Mara Game Preserve. We
followed that with a drive to the Kenya, Tanzania border where we
transferred our gear to our next driver/guide Salim's vehicle, bid
David adeau and drove on to an overnight on Lake Victoria. We were
then driven to Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, followed by
a day at Lake Manyara National Park.

On the way back to the boarder we stopped in Arusha and visited
Tanzania's Cultural Center and a chance to purchase tanzanite gems at
great saving. We asked Salim, whose home is in Arusha, if we could
visit his home and meet his family, which we did and enjoyed very
much. He then drove us to the border where we hooked up with our final
driver/guide Simon who drove us to our last stop, Amboseli National
Park. Following a visit there we were driven back to Nairobi and to
the Stanley Hotel where we were given hotel rooms for the balance of
the day for rest and preparing for the evening dinner out at the
Carnivore Restaurant before our trip to the airport and a 11:20
departure to London on to San Francisco.

It was a grand trip. The drivers were safe, skillful drivers. The
accommodations were all superior and varied in style. Even the tented
camp had a special charm. The food was almost always buffet style with
an excellent variety of dishes beautifully prepared and presented. The
game, bird , flora watching was unbelievable.

Something that was a major plus for us were the vehicle trips between
destinations. We saw people in a wide variety of settings and saw
first hand how they lived and traveled. The roads were sometimes rough
and dusty but the inconvenience was so worth it.

Our trip was from Sunday January 22 through Sunday February 5. This is
a dry season following what the Kenyan's refer to as the short wet
season which this year was very dry so in places we found things to be
very dry but some areas were still very lush and green. The weather
was super. Evenings were cool and the warm days were not humid at all.
That really surprised us but when you realize that Nairobi itself is
almost a mile high and elevation is present in all venues the ideal
weather is understandable even though it is all so close to the
equator.

For those who wish to have something to give out to children and
adults alike there seemed to be real interest in ball point pens
especially if they were imprinted with USA and red, white, and blue.

We took pencils and a propeller type toy that you launch by rubbing
the shaft of the toy to launch it into the air. Kids loved both.
Whatever you can transport in the way of clothing and toys will find
its way to grateful people.

Another important tip is to take lots of single dollar bills, fives
and tens. Tips are appreciated and a dollar for a person kind enough
to push an elevator button for you or give you directions is always
appreciated.

Fabulous experience in East Africa

Dear Tokenya.com, We wanted you to know that we had an absolutely
fabulous two weeks in Kenya and Tanzania. Such beauty and silence. So
many animals and birds. Such beautiful people (inside and out). We
were full to the brim with experiences every day. It was wonderful.

We will be recommending you to friends who are interested in safaris.
Although you didn't mention it in your preparation materials, we found
that there was a great expectation for tips for baggage handling, in
and out of hotel rooms. We tipped $1.00 per person for that service.
Perhaps too much. It would have been helpful to have some guidelines.

We were surprised that we were NOT charged $20 to get out of Kenya. We
were very pleased with all your materials and the arrangements you
made. Your ground crew did a great job, we want to thank you for
helping us to have a fabulous experience of East Africa.
Joyfully and gratefully,

We had a great safari!!

Chris was a first class guide with good humor to add to his
professional approach. He always answered questions with good detail,
he was courtesy and exhibited exceptional driving skills under all
conditions. The vehicle was excellent, always cleaned and well suited
for the trip. The only complaint was the single beds at Ol Tukai Lodge

Recap of our wonderful safari experience

Several months ago, these two "mature" ladies "out of New Jersey" were
contemplating their next vacation adventure and the thought of a
safari was mentioned. However, would it be tool rigorous, too
adventurous?

Well after several very helpful conversations with Tokenya.com, we said
"let's do it"

Well, fantastic it was. It provided some of the most exciting,
fascinating, unique experiences of our lives. Here were hundreds of
elephants, a beautiful cheetah going for the kill, the dramatic red
clad Maasai tribes, the Samburu tribes, a magnificent leopard
luxuriating in the crotch of a tree, exquisite fauna, fora and bird
life, rhinos, hippos, etc. etc.

All of the above made possible through the knowledge and expertise of
our wonderfull driver and guide, Mr. Fred Wanjau..

In addition, all of our accommodations - from the Flamingo Hill camp,
with its luxurious tents, to the Mt. Kenya Safari Çlub, with the
memories of William Holden and Stephanine Powers, were better than
expected, with the nicest, most efficient and warmest staffs one can
imagine, as well as delicious food and drink.

All in all, we believe this trip - and we have been on many both to
Europe and Asia - was the best organized and the most interesting and
exciting of all.

Trip of a life time
This was a trip of a life time for us. We were always the first to the
animals. We intend to write a more detailed and laudatory review of
this trip. Bill & Jeanette

Our Safari started on January 23rd and ended on February 4th. Overall
our experience was excellent. We were met at the airport by James and
Simon, our driver, just as expected and delivered to our hotel.

Simon is rated 10 on a scale of 1 to 10. He was courteous, always on
time, answered our questions fully and provided us with an absolutely
unforgettable experience. We have traveled extensively and agree this
was the best trip we have ever taken. We couldn't have had a better
driver. There were spots we thought were impassable, but Simon always
came through making it all look easy.

The van was great, always kept clean and the perfect size for the four of us.
Everywhere we stayed was great... Amboseli Serena Lodge, Serena
Mountain Lodge, Samburu Serena Lodge, Mount Kenya Safari Club,
Flamingo Hill Tented Camp and Keekorok Lodge. All were well appointed,
rooms were comfortable and the food was good. Flamingo Hill Camp was
the most romantic and fun. The only caution I have and do not
recommend the laundry services to anyone. Samburu Serena Lodge broke a
zipper on a pair of slacks and the Flamingo Hill Camp burned a hole in
a pair of slacks with the iron.

The Parks were all beautiful and met or exceeded our expectations in
terms of wildlife seen.

We had a truly beautiful experience and have recommended you to all our friends.

Thank you so much for everything.

We were extremely pleased with our driver Patrick. He made the
entire journey a pleasure. He provided great knowledge on many aspects
of Kenya life and wildlife. His driving skill were good, cautious but
timely. He was always first to arrive in the waiting area waiting
for us to arrive.

Something must be done about the roads. They are a bit too bumpy!!

Lake Nakuru - 9 , Maasai Mara - 9. We rated our accommodation as
follows: Tortilis Tented Camp  10, Flamingo Hill Tented Camp  9,

Kings & Queens
We just wanted to email and let you know we had a fantastic time.
Everyone was professional, friendly, and great to be around. All of
our drivers/guides (Simon/Amboseli, Moses/Mt Kenya & Samburu,
Patrick/Maasai Mara) were exceptional in their knowledge and had
amazing personalities. They took care of us like we were Kings &
Queens.

We were also particularly impressed with James, because he was always
prompt, professional, and very caring. He was the first person that we
met at the airport in Nairobi and he was the last person we saw when
they dropped us at the airport to come home. He paid special attention
to the weather and let us know that the roads in Maasai Mara were
horrible and suggested that we get airline tickets when we were on our
way to Mt Kenya. This ended up being an excellent idea, because 2 of
the bridges were washed out and it was taking them 8+ hours to get
back to Nairobi, but a lot of them had to turn back.

Thanks again for everything and we look forward in booking another
trip with you.

Spectacular Safari

Thank you for an amazing and spectacular safari. Our guide  Patrick
has extensive knowledge of flora and fauna. His spotting skills are
unbelievable. He has a good of humor. He is warm, patient and
professional. Patrick not only knows the roads in and out of reserves,
hit handling the vehicle was incredible. We were always advised on the
schedule and our guide was consistently on time. His humor and
extensive knowledge of the roads, driving expertise and incredible
wealth of knowledge about wildlife and the country of Kenya made this
trip A+++. The land cruiser was extremely comfortable, well equipped,
enjoyable and always had fresh water. No matter how much it rained, it
never had mud inside. We highly recommend the land cruiser to family
and friends coming on safari. We loved the comfortable seats and two
roof openings. Thank you for a once in a life experience.

Wonderful Experience!

Hello. We have been back over a week now and I am sorry I did not
write you sooner. We had a wonderful time and everything went
extremely well. The best part was to see all the little vans crowded
with people and then there was just the three of us great. We saw lots
of animals and the lodges were all great. One exception was at Tsavo.
The camp was not bad just not in the same class as all the others.
Thank you for your work and patience in working thru the many changes.

Our Safari

I can't thank you and your group enough for our unforgettable journey.
It was truly the trip of a lifetime for Roger and I. Every detail was
handled perfectly by your organization and I was especially happy to
see the smiling face of James when we arrived at the Nairobi airport
after a long, long journey.

Waiting in our van at the airport was our driver/guide "Joe", whom we
felt must be your "best" guide in the organization. No one could have
made our trip more memorable! Always courteous, punctual, articulate
and extremely knowledgeable of the animals and plants. We don't think
we missed anything, Joe saw to that! From our first sighting of
Leopard on our way to the Samburu Serena Lodge to our last Lion
sighting as we were leaving the Maasai Mara, truly breathtaking.

We loved the lodges; my favorite was the Samburu Serena Lodge,
although Keekorok was fabulous too! I think we learned the Kenyan
definition of "road" and ours may be a bit different! But it was all
worth the bumps and bruises!

We will recommend Tokenya.com to everyone. I'm attaching a few favorite pictures.

Our drive David Muthee not only knew every animal, but also birds
,plants, trees, mountains, tribes agriculture etc. He greeted us every
morning, all day and every night with a smile, friendship and respect.
We were amazed by his ability to transverse the safari landscapes and
Kenya’s  roads. David was one time every time, we were the ones who
where running late even then he was very nice about it. We believe
David made our trip so much more special. He is a special person and
